In this unit, we were looking at 19th Century literature, and particularly Romanticism and Realism. At the end of this unit, we are asked to create a project using a variety of medias to present our understanding of this unit. My partner is Victor. Our research question is focusing on “How does Romanticism affect current thinking?”. To get a broad understanding of Romanticism, we looked at the sources Mrs. T gave us, and then we did some more online research to decide what particular literature works we are going to use. After the research, we discussed about what our lines of inquiries should be and these are what finally came out:

1. What was the main idea of Romanticism?

2. What particular effects does it make on current thinking?

We decided to focus on “Frankenstein” which is a Romanticist literature work. It was the first science fiction novel in the world, so the modern science fiction novels and movies or even some modern science technologies are all actually promoted by the novel “Frankenstein”. Then we are going to investigate what Romanticist ideas are presented in the novel and how do them affect our current thinking and lives specifically.
