Creativity in Minecraft
Minecraft is a highly creative game which allows you to do almost everything you want to do. Our group is going to build a model of our school, Leman International School Chengdu, and we are going to design the classrooms in the way we want it to be to show our expects of what the school looks like in the future. I will add some hi-tech devices in the campus using the “Redstone electricity system” in Minecraft, which I think is going to be really fun because I am going to learn some physics knowledge as well.
Goals For This Year
My target of next semester is to get an A in Language Arts. It’s not extremely hard, but it’s definitely quite challenging and I know I still have a long way to go. I really love the idea of our Passion Project. Personally I think it’s a great chance for us to get some freedom and pursue whatever our passion is by working collaborative with others and I’m pretty sure that I will learn a lot from this project this year. In my personal life, I feel like I’m gonna have lots of fun this year. I am going to travel Turkey and the UAE in summer, probably the US as well. It’s gonna be beautiful and clean over there and it will definitely be a meaningful and unforgettable trip. So my goal is to meet some foreign friends in Turkey and the UAE. I’d like to have some conversations with them about different cultures and different ways of education, and this is what I hope I will learn in Manhattan if I am going there (not sure yet).
Reflection on LA Exam
Last week, I took the final exams of the first term in Grade 10. In Paper One of Language Arts, personally I think I have done a great job. I got full marks in reading comprehension, and I got most questions in other sections correct. For the creative writing section, I believe I have done well as well. It was much better than what I did last year. However, of course, there are still lots of skills and knowledge that I need to develop. I still need to work on my vocabulary and grammar skills. For Paper two, this time, before the exam, I made a prediction that one of the topics must be about “foreshadowing” and I prepared a lot for this topic. However, on the exam paper, there is not any topic directly related to “foreshadowing”, and at first, I was so nervous. But since I saw Question 3 which is about “describing a method authors use to engage and entertain their audience”, I felt I was saved. As a result, in future, I think I need to do more preparation for the essay section, because next time, I might not be as lucky as this time.
